The early morning air was cool, and I found myself staring at a patch of Wild Fennel. I wasn’t sure if it was the plant or just my mind playing tricks, but I felt oddly encouraged to tackle the day's adventure. Platteklip Gorge wasn’t going to be easy, but with that aromatic green wonder of nature standing nearby, I was ready to give it my all.

I joined Muki Venture for this private guided hike, and within minutes, I realized I’d made the right choice. We moved up the gorge, me and my trusty hiking dog, with Muki Venture’s local guide leading the way. The terrain was steep, but each step felt like a victory. As the sun rose, the view from the top of Platteklip Gorge was nothing short of magical. That wild fennel might have been my botanical cheerleader, but Muki Venture and the tough, rocky climb had done the real heavy lifting.
